Darby Allin has finally revealed why his skateboard kickflip on Mount Everest isn’t listed in the official Guinness World Records.
AEW star Darby Allin is known for his death-defying stunts in the industry. The former TNT Champion took a break from wrestling earlier this year to scale Mount Everest, where he performed a skateboard kickflip at an elevation of 20,958 feet.
The feat would have been officially recognized as a world record had Darby contacted the Guinness World Records management beforehand. As the AEW star recently explained on the Busted Open Podcast, he didn’t inform Guinness about his plan to perform a skateboard kickflip on the world’s highest peak.
“They don’t count it, because you’ve got to like get with them first before you do something,” Darby said. “I’m just like, dude, in my heart, I know I hold the world record. Ain’t nobody doing a kickflip higher than 21,000 plus feet, that was no joke.” [H/T WrestleTalk]
Darby Allin took a beating on AEW Collision
Darby Allin was attacked by The Death Riders during last night’s AEW Collision broadcast. He took a brutal European uppercut from Claudio Castagnoli before being jumped by Daniel Garcia and Wheeler Yuta.
Despite the punishment, Darby somehow found the strength to crawl into the ring and confront Jon Moxley. He told Moxley it wasn’t too late to quit, possibly foreshadowing the outcome of their upcoming “I Quit” match at AEW WrestleDream.
Moxley responded by spiking Allin head-first with a massive Death Rider DDT. Fans will have to wait and see which of these two men will utter the words “I quit” when WrestleDream comes to St. Louis, Missouri, this Saturday.
