Chris Jericho could make his highly anticipated return to WWE for two big reasons.
Jericho’s AEW future and a potential WWE return have generated significant buzz among wrestling fans over the past few months. Amid all the speculations, Dave Meltzer has reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the inaugural AEW World Champion could return to WWE for a retirement tour and a Hall of Fame induction.
The report states that the fact that Chris Jericho posted a video of his WWE return in 2012 on social media and the guest list for his next Jericho Cruise for November 2026, from Miami to the Bahamas, not having any AEW names could mean one of two things. He’s either going to WWE or wants people to think he’s going to WWE to up his price on both sides.
Meltzer also stated that the crowd chanting for Jericho at Crown Jewel: Perth will not alter any creative plans for the current AEW star in WWE, and that the idea among people in WWE is that Jericho is coming back for a retirement tour and a Hall of Fame induction.
Chris Jericho Responded To Reports That He’s Returning To WWE
Amid all the speculations about his future in pro wrestling, Chris Jericho recently responded to reports stating that he’s on his way back to WWE when his AEW contract expires.
Speaking to Daily Mail at Halloween Horror Nights, Chris Jericho responded to the reports stating that he was not going anywhere anytime soon, but didn’t rule out the possibility of a WWE return.
“The best thing that could happen in wrestling is AEW, and the fact that there’s two huge promotions that you can choose from just makes it better for the guys. It makes it better for the fans and everybody in between. So I’m not going anywhere for a while.”
“I’m still with AEW for right now. Would I go back to WWE? I wouldn’t be opposed to it; we’ll just have to see what happens. But the best thing that could happen is to have two great teams that you can play for, and that just makes everything bigger and more exciting.”
