Vince Russo is back.
Former wrestling writer Vince Russo is now an investor in Juggalo Championship Wrestling, an independent promotion owned by the Insane Clown Posse (Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope). With that, Russo also marks his official return to the professional wrestling world.
Per a press release, Russo made a surprise appearance at JCW’s latest taping for its flagship show Lunacy, which emanated from Denver, Colorado.
“Known for his controversial and era-defining work in WWE, WCW, and TNA, Russo appeared during the taping in a segment that immediately has the wrestling world buzzing. His involvement marks a new chapter for JCW,” read the release, “which has been gaining momentum with its weekly Lunacy series, which airs new episodes every Thursday on YouTube.”
Russo’s appearance will air as a part of the Thanksgiving Day episode of Lunacy, slated to drop on Thursday, November 27 on the Psychopathic Records YouTube channel.
“I’m back,” Russo said. “If you thought JCW was wild and unpredictable before, you haven’t seen anything yet.”
As of writing, there is no word on whether Russo’s role as a JCW investor will evolve into an on-screen role for the promotion. Throughout the 1990s, Russo served as a creative writer for WWE, with a promotion to head writer coming in 1997. He later went on to lend his creative services to WCW and TNA Wrestling. For the last decade, he’s hosted a number of podcasts for his own brand.
