The two-hour era of WWE SmackDown is reportedly ending again in 2026.
At the beginning of 2025, when WWE RAW made the move from the USA Network to Netflix, the three-hour format of RAW moved over to SmackDown on Friday nights. It lasted for several months before the show reverted to its two-hour format on July 4.
Those who have missed the three-hour format of the show are reportedly in for a treat in 2026.
According to WrestleVotes, sources have indicated to them that WWE and USA Network have decided to move SmackDown back to three hours beginning January 2 in Buffalo, tweeting out:
“According to sources, WWE and USA Network have decided to move SmackDown back to three hours, beginning with the January 2nd show from Buffalo, NY,” WrestleVotes said in a post.
SmackDown has come under fire by the WWE Universe in recent months for the overall lack of quality of the blue brand compared to what they are getting on Monday night with RAW. It’s unknown if moving the show back to three hours would fix these issues.
As of this writing, neither WWE nor USA Network has confirmed this change.
Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information as it becomes available.
