John Cena checked in with fans by sharing a new update on his hair transplant progress after years of being teased for his bald spot.
Cena has been the center of jokes about his thinning hair for years, with fans and even WWE stars teasing him about his bald spot. A few months ago, he opened up about his hair loss in an interview with PEOPLE and admitted that the constant jokes and fan signs pushed him to look into treatment.
He noticed that the more he tried to hide his thinning hair, the more fans pointed it out. Signs calling out his bald spot made him realize he needed to take action. This pushed him to build a full routine and use special hair products, eventually leading to a hair transplant last November.
Cena later admitted he wished he had done the procedure earlier. He said the main thing holding him back was the stigma around hair loss, which he now believes shouldn’t exist. He also said the transplant completely changed the direction of his life.
Now, nearly a year after the procedure, Cena has given fans a fresh update. On X, formerly Twitter, he posted a photo with his transplant doctor, Dr. Ken Anderson, proudly showing his progress.
Cena wrote, “Another great visit to the Anderson Center for Hair. Been about 1 year since @KenAndersonMD operated and what a transformation it’s been! Gotta take care of his work so I stay up with my maintenance!”
