Rhea Ripley has spoken out about Liv Morgan’s surprise return and her role in costing John Cena the Intercontinental Championship.
At WWE Survivor Series: WarGames, Dominik Mysterio defeated John Cena to win back the Intercontinental Championship in a match filled with interference from Judgment Day members. Roxanne Perez, Raquel Rodriguez, Finn Balor and JD McDonagh all attacked Cena throughout the match. But the biggest shock came when Liv Morgan made her unexpected return.
Morgan appeared to turn on Dominik at first, slapping him before hugging John Cena. However, it was all a setup. As Cena let his guard down, Morgan delivered a low blow, revealing she had still with Mysterio.
This gave Dominik Mysterio an opening to hit a 619. She then smashed Cena with the title belt, and Mysterio followed with a Frog Splash to score the win. Rhea Ripley Morgan’s longtime rival reacted to the moment and admitted she was stunned as she watched the events unfold.
Speaking on an interview with SportsCenter, Ripley said, “It was wild. I don’t even know how to describe the emotions that I was feeling. So I was kind of just like watching it in awe and kind of like a fan. I was like, ‘is this real? Is this actually happening? Like, what is happening?
“Then Liv obviously slapped Dom, and I was like, maybe she’s seen everything that he’s been doing with Roxanne and the Judgment Day. But then once she changed her face expression, I knew it was over for John Cena in that point in time, because I know how tactical Liv and Dom can be and how slimy they are. So I knew right then and there that they had that in the bag. You just got to throw your hands up in the air and go, oh, well, I guess John didn’t see that coming.” [H/T: Fightful]
