Liv Morgan Not Expected to Defend WWE Title Anytime Soon — Report

More than 50 days into her reign as WWE Women’s World Champion, Liv Morgan still has yet to defend her title. According to a new report, that trend is likely to continue into the summer.

Joey of WrestleVotes reports that Morgan is not expected to defend the Women’s World Championship anytime soon due to her participation in the 2026 Queen of the Ring tournament, which is set to culminate at Night of Champions on June 27. Moreover, it’s speculated that a title match may not happen entirely until the two-night SummerSlam PLE, slated for August 1 and 2.

“I don’t think [she’ll defend the title before SummerSlam], simply because she’s in this tournament. I do think she’ll make the finals over there in Saudi Arabia. So won’t be defending the title between now and then,” Joey said. “Then afterwards, you’re only looking at about a month, so if she hasn’t done it since then, they’ll probably just wait for SummerSlam to have her defend it. Then it’s going to be upwards of 80 days, which is ridiculous. We reported creative was a little split on how they’ve been treating Liv and Dom [Mysterio]. Both on the [Raw] show last night. Nice to see, but yeah, don’t think she’s going to defend that title anytime soon.”

While she has yet to raise up her Women’s World Championship, Liv Morgan has competed in two matches on Raw, the first of which pitted her against recent call-up Sol Ruca. The second saw her emerge victorious in an opening round Queen of the Ring bout. The winner of the QOTR will earn a world title match at SummerSlam.
