WWE Star Believes John Cena Owed It To His Fans To Fix His Retirement Storyline

It’s likely the WWE Universe will forever debate how the company handled John Cena‘s retirement year. Although one star believes Cena owed it to his fans to fix what was broken.

WWE Superstar Wade Barrett recently sat down with Alistair McGeorge of METRO. While discussing John Cena’s heel turn earlier this year at Elimination Chamber, Barrett admits he wasn’t a fan of the moment and credits Cena for course correcting by SummerSlam, calling it the right thing to do.

“I don’t know if he took some bad advice on the whole heel turn. I didn’t like it at all,” Wade Barrett said. “But I didn’t think it was the right move, and I think his course correct around about SummerSlam time was absolutely the right thing to do. I think he owed it to the WWE Universe and, of course, his legions of Cenation fans to close this thing out the right way and give people what they wanted from him, which is the John Cena they’ve known and loved all along.”
