WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella recently spoke about how Triple H has played a major role in changing women’s wrestling in the company.
Speaking in an interview with KTAR, Bella was asked about the difference between working under Vince McMahon and Triple H. She explained that she had good relationships with both, but highlighted Triple H’s strong support for the women’s division.
She said, “You know, I’ve had an incredible relationship with them both. Obviously. as you can see with Triple H, he loves women’s wrestling, which has been so incredible. And he gives the women the same opportunities the men have. Whether that’s match time, that’s women fighting in a cage, that’s women main eventing? He really spends time on giving them those opportunities.”
Nikki also said how Triple H has helped elevate the division and earn respect from fans. “That is what’s been incredible about being back in this new era. And you can see that level of respect with the fans, and I do believe that’s due to Triple H and the respect he has for women’s wrestling.”
She continued, “It’s been so fun to be a part of, and to be like, ‘Oh my gosh, wait. We get to do this, and we can do that?’ It’s amazing. So I would say that’s the difference: it’s the opportunity and the belief that exists in women’s wrestling.” [H/T: 411mania]
Nikki Bella made her in-ring return earlier this year at the Royal Rumble. Over the past few months, she has remained active on the roster, sharing the ring with Becky Lynch, Roxanne Perez, Asuka, and Stephanie Vaquer.
However, her recent back-to-back losses have stirred discussion among fans, with many believing she is being buried during her current WWE run.
