Gunther wasted no time basking in the hate of the WWE Universe for retiring John Cena tonight on Monday Night RAW.
Over the weekend at Saturday Night’s Main Event, Gunther forced John Cena to tap out to end his legendary WWE career. What did The Ring General have to say for himself tonight on RAW?
Former World Heavyweight Champion Gunther kicked off tonight’s episode of WWE RAW. He was greeted with loud boos from the WWE Universe and chants telling him that he sucks. They were also quick to remind him that he tapped out to Jey Uso earlier this year.
However, Gunther was undeterred and reminded the WWE Universe he did exactly what he said he was going to do and made John Cena give up. Gunther boldly claimed that John Cena tapped out like a little bitch.
This seemingly was Gunther’s mic drop moment as he proceeded to leave the ring. But moments later, he chose to return to raise the ire of the WWE Universe more. The Ring General would once again leave, only to return a third time to stand on the broadcast table and taunt the crowd.
Gunther said it was his time now, and he will forever be the man who made John Cena give up. He would finally return backstage, only to be confronted by Otis and Akira Tozawa briefly before going face-to-face with R-Truth, who called him a piece of trash.
Adam Pearce kicks Gunther out of the building
This led to a face-off with RAW General Manager Adam Pearce questioning if he’s proud of himself. Pearce said what he did tonight doesn’t make him a Ring General, it makes him an asshole. Pearce proceeds to kick Gunther out of the building.
As Gunther leaves, he is confronted by AJ Styles, who is waiting for him by his car. Styles said nothing, but his stare said it all. Gunther laughed it off and told Styles he couldn’t see him as he drove away.
