Kyle Fletcher looks back on a rather distressing in-ring moment.
With pro wrestling comes the inherent risk of physical injury and damage to one’s body. In Kyle Fletcher’s case, one superplex left him feeling particularly rocked in his bottom.
Appearing on Insight With Chris Van Vliet, the AEW star recalled the painful moment he endured while wrestling Mark Briscoe in the 2024 Continental Classic.
“I was just climbing up the guardrail. [Briscoe] came and stopped me, and we did like a little baby superplex, is what we called it. Baby superplex, off the guardrail to the floor. For whatever reason, whatever angle I hit the ground, it was like all tailbone. I swear I felt like I was pissing blood. I felt like my butthole had fallen out, it was the craziest feeling I’d ever felt in my life.
“I was laying on the ground like, please leave me here for a good 10 seconds at least. I need to figure out if I’m okay right now.”
Despite the odd sensation radiating from his rear end, Fletcher confirms that no blood was expelled. Still, it was not a fun experience for the former TNT Champion.
“I was totally fine, but, like, whatever feeling I felt at that time, I was like, it felt like everything had exploded, and I was just not having a good time at all,” he said.
Briscoe went on to defeat Fletcher in the respective Continental Classic match, held during the AEW Collision: Winter Is Coming special. Briscoe also recently defeated Fletcher for the TNT Championship in a brutal no-disqualification match at AEW Full Gear in November.
