Mark Briscoe’s Return Timeline Unclear After AEW Injury Update

Mark Briscoe’s return to AEW is now up in the air after a new injury update was revealed during the latest AEW Collision tapings. AEW has not confirmed what injuries Briscoe is dealing with or when he will be back, but comments from his Conglomeration teammates suggest he could be out for a while.

The update comes only days after Briscoe went through a tough AEW World Championship match against MJF on Dynamite. It followed an intense run that also included a brutal cage match at Forbidden Door and his return to the world title picture after recovering from an earlier injury.

The Conglomeration gives an update on Mark Briscoe

AEW taped this week’s episode of Collision on Wednesday night at Viejas Arena in San Diego, right after the live episode of Dynamite.

During the show, Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly, and Roderick Strong appeared in a promo for The Conglomeration. Cassidy and O’Reilly gave fans an update on the group’s injured members, saying that both Mark Briscoe and Tomohiro “Big Tom” Ishii are currently out with injuries.

O’Reilly said, “Because of his injuries, we don’t know when we’re gonna see Mark again.” Then they added that the only good news was that Willow Nightingale is expected to be back soon.

The promo then moved on to other business when Konosuke Takeshita interrupted to hype Kyle Fletcher’s upcoming match on Dynamite.

AEW didn’t reveal how serious Briscoe’s injury is, but O’Reilly’s comments suggest that fans shouldn’t expect him back anytime soon.

This is another unfortunate setback for Briscoe after what had been a strong return.

On the July 1 episode of Dynamite, Briscoe challenged MJF for the AEW World Championship after earning the title shot at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. The match turned into a hard-hitting battle, with MJF repeatedly targeting Briscoe’s injured forehead.

The AEW World Champion ripped off the bandage covering Briscoe’s head and even bit the wound open, leaving him covered in blood. Briscoe also crashed through tables before MJF finished the match with the Heatseeker piledriver.

Even after winning, MJF kept attacking Briscoe until Kenny Omega ran to the ring to stop him.
