A new report has provided an update on whether WWE NXT North American Champion Ethan Page is set to make a main roster move.
According to a report from Fightful (via Fightful Select), Ethan Page continues to impress within WWE, but a main roster call-up is not expected in the near future. Sean Ross Sapp stated that despite Green’s efforts, Page is unlikely to be promoted right now.
He noted that while Green has been regularly pushing for it, Ethan Page’s strong performances and good impressions during his frequent visits to WWE SmackDown have still not been enough to secure a full-time main roster move.
Green has openly pushed for Page to join her on WWE’s main roster. She has repeatedly pitched creative ideas for an on-screen reunion and has made it clear she wants her tag team partner moved up.
The report also explained that Page’s continued presence in NXT may be intentional. WWE and The CW reportedly value having experienced veterans on the NXT brand, especially wrestlers with strong television experience who can help anchor the show.
For now, Ethan Page appears set to remain a key figure in NXT, even as speculation around his eventual main roster move continues.
Chelsea Green explained her responsibility in elevating WWE NXT star Ethan Page
In a September interview with USA Today, Chelsea Green said it is her responsibility to help the WWE main roster see Page as an equal. She said, “(Page) absolutely deserves everything in wrestling that he’s ever got, and now I feel like it’s my job to make sure the main roster sees him as a main roster talent,” Green said. “I also hope that he stays with us. I think that we’ve learned so much from him. He’s learned so much from us, and we have just made kind of the perfect unit.”
