A Bunny Costs The Miz His Match On WWE SmackDown

We’re pretty sure no one had a bunny interfering in a WWE SmackDown match the day after Christmas on their wrestling bingo card. Yet, here we are!

Tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown opened in a way many wouldn’t expect. The WWE Universe was greeted with a Joe Hendry concert, complete with Otis as Santa Claus, Akira Tozawa as an Elf on the Shelf, and a bunny for some reason. The NXT star delighted the crowd with a song making fun of his opponent tonight, The Miz.

This song would lead to The Miz interrupting and demanding that their match happen immediately. Nick Aldis would appear on the stage and announce that their match was being turned into a Miracle on 34th Street Fight. This match change certainly didn’t benefit the former WWE Champion.

The finish of the match saw Otis, Tozawa, and the bunny get involved, helping Hendry pick up the victory over The Miz. The bunny revealed himself to be none other than R-Truth. Leave it to Truth to think a bunny is associated with Christmas.

This won’t be the last we see of Joe Hendry on WWE SmackDown

While Joe Hendry is currently an NXT Superstar, it doesn’t seem he will be for much longer.

On the latest episode of WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, it was revealed that internal discussions have already begun to bring Joe Hendry to the main roster as a member of the SmackDown roster. It was noted that USA Network is very keen on landing Hendry for the brand.

While a main roster call-up appears to be in Hendry’s future, a pay raise likely isn’t. Sapp has reported that the former TNA World Champion is already under a main roster-level deal despite being on NXT.
