AEW Worlds End Zero Hour Results:

We surprisingly hear from Adam Cole, who teases a potential return to AEW at some point in 2026. Cole gives his predictions for the Continental Classic. Cole picks Jon Moxley and Konosuke Takeshita to advance to the finals and Takeshita to win the whole thing.

Hyan and Maya World vs. Sisters of Sin

  • The finish of the match saw the Sisters of Sin hit a double team move on Hyan. Skye Blue picks up the pinfall victory for her team.

Winners: Sisters of Sin

Grade: B-

It was a fine opener. At times, the four didn’t seem to be on the same page, but once they gelled, things got better. I don’t think anyone expected Hyan and Maya World to win this match and until you start giving the duo some wins, the perception isn’t going to change.

Zack Gibson (w/ James Drake) vs. Eddie Kingston

  • The finish of the match saw Eddie Kingston hit Zack Gibson with a DDT to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Eddie Kingston

James Drake attacks Kingston from behind after the match. Gibson tries to choke Kingston out, but Ortiz returns and makes the save.

Grade: B

This was a nice surprise. Didn’t expect to see Ortiz back tonight. Hopefully, we get a couple of surprises tonight that people aren’t expecting. Good match between Kingston and Gibson.

Bandido and Mascara Dorada (w/ Alex Abrahantes) vs. Rocky Romero and Mark Davis

  • The finish of the match saw Bandido hit Rocky Romero with the 21Plex to score the pinfall victory.

Winners: Bandido and Mascara Dorada

Grade: B

Fun tag match, but I can’t imagine anyone was surprised with the result. There was no way they were going to let Bandido lose the B-Team of the Don Callis Family. That would have been wild!

JetSpeed and Jurassic Express vs. The Demand and Josh Alexander

  • The finish of the match saw Jurassic Express hit a double team move on Ricochet. Jack Perry scored the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: Jurassic Express and JetSpeed

Grade: B+

They saved the best for last on Zero Hour tonight. Really great eight-man tag to lead into the main pay-per-view tonight. A lot of these men deserved spots on the show tonight, so I’m glad they got to have this match. Now onto the main show!

AEW Worlds End Results:

The pay-per-view kicks off with the highly anticipated Continental Classic semi-finals match between Kazuchika Okada and Konosuke Takeshita.

Continental Classic Semi-Final: Konosuke Takeshita vs. Kazuchika Okada

  • The finish of the match saw Kazuchika Okada hit Konosuke Takeshita with a screwdriver to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Kazuchika Okada

Grade: A-

Hated that finish. I felt the match was just starting to reach that gear where this was going to be an all-time epic matchup, and they do THAT. I’m not a fan of that booking at all. AEW will never get another chance to say someone won the G1 and the Continental Classic in the same year. Mind-blowing that they would drop the ball like this right out of the gate. Great match, terrible finish. Moving on…

Continental Classic Semi-Final: Jon Moxley vs. Kyle Fletcher

  • The finish of the match saw Jon Moxley grab Kyle Fletcher in a sleeperhold choke and win via passout.

Winner: Jon Moxley

After the match, Fletcher attacked Moxley and targeted his leg, making sure the leader of the Death Riders is injured before the finals. Despite that post-match attack, Moxley will face Kazuchika Okada in the finals of the Continental Classic later tonight.

Grade: A+

Now THAT is what the Continental Classic is all about! Incredible match. I wasn’t expecting Jon Moxley to win that match, and the way he pulled out the win was legendary. Honestly, the slow rise of Mox back to the top of AEW over the last several months needs to be studied. What a masterclass of storytelling we’re getting right now.

Chicago Street Fight for the AEW World Tag Team Titles: FTR (c) (w/ Big Stoke) vs. The Bang Bang Gang

  • The finish of the match saw FTR hit Austin Gunn with a spike piledriver onto the title to score the pinfall victory.

Winners: And still AEW World Tag Team Champions, FTR

Grade: A

This was WAY better than I expected it to be. There’s just something about FTR working with the Bang Bang Gang that creates tag team magic. Austin Gunn really stepped up tonight and put on a great performance. I loved this tag match. While I felt like tonight would have been the perfect time for Adam Copeland and Christian Cage to return, it wasn’t meant to be. I guess they’ll be back in 2026 instead.

AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship: Babes of Wrath (c) vs. Athena and Mercedes Moné

  • The finish of the match saw Willow Nightingale reverse Mercedes Moné’s Moné Maker into a unique rollup to score the pinfall victory for her team.

Winners: And still AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions, the Babes of Wrath

After the match, Athena screams at Mercedes at ringside for losing the match.

Grade: B+

This was a fun tag match, and a solid first title defense for the Babes of Wrath. Mercedes takes another pinfall loss, and her descent into madness will clearly continue into 2026. I’m curious if all of these losses will eventually lead to a babyface turn somewhere down the line or not. I guess we’ll find out soon enough.

Darby Allin vs. Gabe Kidd

  • The finish of the match saw Darby Allin reverse Gabe Kidd’s sleeperhold into a pin to score the victory.

Winner: Darby Allin

Grade: B

This was definitely the bloody affair you’d expect from people like Allin and Kidd. If you didn’t think we weren’t gonna see any blood in this matchup, I’m not sure you’ve paid attention to either of these men’s careers. The match was good, not great. But still enjoyable overall.

Mixed Nuts Mayhem: Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Daniel Garcia, and Marina Shafir of the Death Riders vs. Orange Cassidy, Mark Briscoe, Roderick Strong, and Toni Storm

  • The finish of the match saw Mark Briscoe hit Wheeler Yuta with the Jay Driller to score the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: Mark Briscoe, Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong, and Timeless Toni Storm

The Babes of Wrath, Mina Shirakawa, and Luther joined the post-match celebration, and everyone had a great time enjoying the team’s big win.

Grade: B+

That was the personification of fun. If you didn’t have a good time watching this match and have a big smile on your face throughout a majority of it, I believe we look at professional wrestling differently. And while that’s perfectly fine, I enjoy the fact that AEW provides fans with a little bit of everything when it comes to this sport. Tonight has been a perfect example of getting a little bit of everything, and so far, the show has been pretty great overall.

Mercedes Moné has lost it

Lexy Nari is backstage trying to get a word from Mercedes Moné. The TBS Champion stormed past her and had a full-blown temper tantrum in her locker room, screaming and breaking things. Moné would eventually come out and agree to an interview, and it didn’t go well.

Mercedes ran down her list of accomplishments this year and declared that at New Year’s Smash, she’s going to beat Willow Nightingale’s f*cking ass. Moné went back into her locker room and proceeded to scream and have another temper tantrum.

AEW Women’s World Championship: Kris Statlander (c) vs. Jamie Hayter

  • The finish of the match saw Kris Statlander hit Jamie Hayter with Staturday Night Fever to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: And still AEW Women’s World Champion, Kris Statlander

Grade: A

I wasn’t overly excited going into this matchup. I didn’t think the build was very good. But oh boy, these two women really delivered in the ring tonight. This was an excellent match from start to finish, and they told a great story in the ring. I’m curious to see who’s next for Statlander.

Two big title matches announced for Dynamite: New Year’s Smash

Excalibur announces on commentary that due to what took place tonight, two title matches have been announced for the New Year’s Smash episode of Dynamite this Wednesday. Ricochet will defend the National Championship against Jungle Jack Perry. And Mercedes Moné will defend her TBS Championship against Willow Nightingale.

The Continental Classic Finals are upon us

Don Callis and Kazuchika Okada are backstage. Don Callis says Okada will win the Continental Classic back-to-back. Callis says he tried to collaborate with Jon Moxley, but he threw it in his face and tried to intimidate him. Callis says he plays the long game, and he’s been waiting for three years to get revenge on Moxley for giving him that scar on his forehead. Okada says Moxley has accomplished a lot, but he’ll never beat him because he’s the greatest tournament wrestler of all time… bitch!

We then hear from Jon Moxley. Mox says you hear all the stories about Kazuchika Okada and how a guy like him can’t beat someone like Okada. Moxley says the Continental Classic is a beautiful thing because, win, lose, or draw, it’s about passion. Mox says a tournament like this is what you dream about. Moxley says the Continental Classic is a hill worth dying on and tells Okada he’s gonna have to kill him.

Continental Classic Finals: Jon Moxley vs. Kazuchika Okada

  • The finish of the match saw Jon Moxley hit Kazuchika Okada with the Death Rider to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: And NEW AEW Continental Champion, Jon Moxley!

A heartfelt promo from Jon Moxley

After the match, the Death Riders hit the ring to celebrate with Jon Moxley. Tony Schiavone looks to get an interview with Moxley. Schiavone puts over Mox’s effort to win the tournament. Moxley says the Continental Title doesn’t belong to him; it belongs to everyone in this tournament who busted their ass and came to the ring every night and gave it everything they had.

Mox says it belongs to the fans who support professional wrestling and spend their hard-earned money to come see them. Moxley says he owes it to the fans and his teammates. Mox puts over everyone who entered the C2 and everyone in AEW who gives it everything they have. Moxley says there is no other organization in pro wrestling like AEW, and they want to be the Elite in All Elite Wrestling.

Grade: A

Unreal match. If you had told me a few days ago that not only would Jon Moxley be winning this tournament, but I’d be cheering for him to do it, I would have called you crazy. AEW told a hell of a story tonight, and I tip my hat to everyone who pulled this off. Incredible stuff! Now it’s time for the main event.

AEW World Championship: Samoa Joe (c) vs. Hangman Page vs. Swerve Strickland vs. MJF

  • The finish of the match saw Hangman Page hit Samoa Joe with multiple Buckshot Lariats. Before he could hit another one, MJF hit Page with a low blow and then hit Joe with a Heatseeker to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: And NEW AEW World Champion, MJF!

Grade: A

MJF celebrates with the World Championship as AEW Worlds End goes off the air.

AEW Worlds End Review:

I think tonight’s pay-per-view delivered in a big way. As much as I didn’t like the finish of the opening contest, Okada losing to Moxley later felt all the more satisfying because of it. I still think they missed a golden opportunity to claim Takeshita is the only man to win the G1 and the Continental Classic in the same year, but I digress.

The matches tonight spoke for themselves, and I don’t think there was a single bad match tonight on the pay-per-view. This was a great way to round out the year for AEW, and the future in 2026 looks very bright.

The main event was great, and MJF is back at the top of the mountain in AEW. I’m very curious to see what his second title reign will look like. I would imagine it will be very different from his first.

Grade: A-
