Many have an opinion on John Cena losing his final WWE match, but it appears the “Never Seen 17” has his own mindset on things.
Ever since tapping out to Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event, the WWE Universe has been locked into a seemingly never-ending debate as to whether the company did the right thing or not regarding Cena’s last match.
While Cena has been relatively vague in regards to the finish beyond touching upon the match on Cody Rhodes’ podcast, it appears we finally have more of a statement from Cena when it comes to his feelings on the finish.
John Cena took to social media today to make a post about winning and losing and to do your very best with what’s within your control, tweeting out:
“There are many forces at play in moments where we can ‘win’ or ‘lose’. Much of that at times can be beyond control. What is within our control is doing our absolute best,” John Cena said in a post.
While Cena didn’t flat-out say it, it certainly seems to be a levelheaded response to the booking of his final WWE match.
Natalya compares John Cena’s final match to the series finale of Seinfeld
WWE Superstar Natalya recently spoke with The Toronto Sun. While discussing John Cena’s final match, Nattie expressed how she loved the fact that John Cena was able to go out on his own terms, comparing it to the series finale of the hit comedy series, Seinfeld.
“What I really love about John’s ending is that he left on his terms,” Natalya said. “I talk about this in my book, about beating the house. Very few professional athletes get to beat the house. Very few get to leave on their own terms. Most people leave because they’re forced into it. They’re forced into retirement; they have to go. John did what Jerry Seinfeld did.
“Jerry Seinfeld stopped doing his own show when he was like the number one show on television. And I remember when I was a kid, because I used to love Seinfeld. My mom and my sisters, and I would always watch it together. We loved that show, and I was devastated when Seinfeld went off the air. Because they were the number one show on TV at the time. And Jerry Seinfeld said, ‘Yeah, we want to leave on top. We don’t want to leave when the ratings tank.’ You see, with John, he did it on his own terms, but people are just feeling everything.”
