Tatum Paxley finally gets revenge on Izzi Dame at WWE NXT Year’s Evil.
The opening match of tonight’s WWE NXT broadcast saw Tatum Paxley face off against former tag team partner Izzi Dame. The match ended with Paxley hitting The Psycho Trap — a spinning fisherman’s neckbreaker — for the victory.
For Tatum, this was a major win over the person who betrayed her trust. And the same woman who also cost her the NXT Women’s Championship against Jacy Jayne several months ago. As of now, it remains unclear whether the storyline feud between Paxley and Dame is over.
The match between Paxley and Dame was not originally scheduled to open NXT New Year’s Evil. Blake Monroe’s sneak attack on Thea Hail before the opening bell forced General Manager Ava to adjust the show’s plans.
An irate Ava later told Monroe that not only would she not receive a title shot, but she was also banned from the building. Later in the show, Ava informed Thea Hail that she would defend her NXT Women’s North American Championship in an open challenge.
This sudden shift is likely tied to a recent report revealing WWE’s plans to bring Blake Monroe to RAW as the latest main roster call-up.
