Cody Rhodes Gets Busted Open The Hard Way On WWE SmackDown

Cody Rhodes went through hell on WWE SmackDown this week.

The American Nightmare put his Undisputed WWE Championship on the line against Drew McIntyre in the main event of SmackDown in Berlin.

McIntyre won the first stage with a Claymore, while the second stage went to Rhodes after he planted McIntyre with a Cross Rhodes on the announce table.

It all came down to the final stage inside a steel cage. At one point, Rhodes attempted a running shoulder tackle to McIntyre’s midsection, only to graze the back of his head on the cold steel, busting it open in the process.

During the closing moments, McIntyre attempted to escape the steel cage through the door. But was met by a hooded figure. The individual removed his mask, revealing himself as Jacob Fatu. A stunned McIntyre then tried to escape by climbing the cage. However, he was stopped in his tracks by the Samoan Werewolf.

After dealing with the Scottish Warrior, Fatu turned his attention to Cody Rhodes. Capitalizing on the distraction, McIntyre found his opening and escaped the cage through the door. In doing so, McIntyre became the new Undisputed WWE Champion.
