WWE RAW will be without a familiar voice on Monday night.
RAW is set to take place at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. However, WWE RAW ring announcer Alicia Taylor has shared that she won’t be able to make the show due to a weekend snowstorm resulting in cancelled flights.
Despite her absence, Taylor said that Lilian Garcia will fill in for her this week. Garcia was in Montreal to serve as ring announcer at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event this past weekend.
“Currently at the airport with all canceled flights to Canada ?? soo… tagging in sister LIL for the fill ????,” Taylor wrote on her Instagram Stories.
More than 15,000 flights have been cancelled on Sunday and Monday due to the winter storm. It has also been reported that more than 100 million people were under winter storm warnings across a majority of the country.
Several states are under travel restrictions due to the accumulation of snow, sleet and ice.
The wrestling world prepared in advance to avoid as many issues as possible, including Tony Khan cancelling Saturday’s AEW Collision taping in Texas. Rather than risk running the show while the storm was approaching, AEW elected to tape the show on Wednesday after Dynamite. WWE also had contingency plans in place, as Fightful reported that the company had backup (and backup backup) plans in order to travel to its respective events.
