A WWE superfan confirms his role in the hilarious Batista backstage video… or lack of one.
WWE fans will remember the hilarious backstage moment in 2008 when a fan jumped in front of Batista as he was warming up for his match and did his signature pose in front of the camera before running away from security.
For many years, people wondered if the person who jumped in front of Batista was WWE superfan Brock Lesnar Guy, who recently announced his “retirement” from attending live shows. Now, the latter has taken to X/Twitter to finally clarify his role in the segment.
“Okay, it’s been so many years, and I’ve been asked countless times if I was the fan that jumped in front of Batista backstage at Monday Night RAW in the summer of 2008. But before I answer the question, let’s get into a little context to why that even happened in the first place.”
He first provided a bit of context about the WWE storyline that led to the moment
Before confirming anything, Brock Lesnar Guy first went into detail about the storyline that led to the Batista segment in WWE RAW.
In June 2008, former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon introduced Million Dollar Mania and announced that he would be giving away $1 million to random fans live on RAW. However, the storyline came to an abrupt end after a kayfabe explosion caused the RAW stage to collapse on McMahon.
Stephanie and Shane McMahon addressed the WWE crew, asking them to work together in their father’s absence. However, the July 7, 2008, episode of RAW descended into chaos, featuring several mishaps and controversial moments, including the infamous Batista incident.
After explaining the context, Brock Lesnar Guy finally confirmed that he was not the fan who jumped in front of Batista that day.
“Was I the fan that jumped in front of Batista? It was not me. I know there’s a lot of times I joked about it, even kind of played along with it, but again, it was not me,” the WWE superfan said.
