CM Punk’s WWE Royal Rumble Role Revealed

WWE has confirmed CM Punk’s role at the 2026 Royal Rumble.

WWE will kick off the road to WrestleMania 42 this Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with the 2026 Royal Rumble event. The card features four matches, including the men’s and women’s Royal Rumble contests. While Drew McIntyre will defend his Undisputed WWE Championship at the event, the company didn’t announce a title defense for World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk.

During the WWE Royal Rumble kickoff show, Michael Cole confirmed CM Punk’s role at the PLE. Cole announced that Punk will not be competing at the Rumble and that he will be at the Countdown show before the event alongside him, Wade Barrett, and Big E.

CM Punk noted that he has a lot of trash-talking to do at the Countdown show, especially about Finn Balor and Becky Lynch. Balor had interfered during Punk’s title defense against AJ Styles on this week’s episode of WWE RAW and attacked the Straight Edge Superstar.

It will be interesting to hear what CM Punk has to say in the Countdown Show before the Royal Rumble. Fans will also want to see how WWE uses Finn Balor at the event after RAW General Manager Adam Pearce informed him that there was no room for him in the men’s Royal Rumble match.

WrestleZone will have live coverage of the WWE Royal Rumble on Saturday.
