Tonight’s episode of WWE RAW saw Finn Bálor send a message to CM Punk and the rest of the WWE Universe.
During Monday’s episode, a brief vignette played that saw Bálor talking about the importance of respect. He said that everywhere he’s gone in his career, he’s shown people respect. However, he’s finally learned that in his time in WWE, he hasn’t been shown the same respect.
He talked about how angry he was to be left out of the Royal Rumble. He also touched on losing a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match to CM Punk. Bálor went on to say that “respect only gets you so far in this business,” but he wants more. He said he wants Punk’s title, and doesn’t think he’s a bad guy, but is willing to “bad things” in order to get it.
The move comes as a shock, as Bálor and Punk seemed to show respect for one another backstage just a week ago. Punk and Bálor met and Punk told him to leave The Judgment Day if he really wants to succeed. Bálor seemed to take the advice and respect to heart. However, Bálor was quick to prove that wasn’t the case, when he ambushed Punk last week. Now, it’s unclear just what Bálor’s future holds, but we know what title he has his eyes set on.
