CM Punk had a strong message for Finn Bálor tonight, and suggested he finally part with his longtime stable.
During Monday’s episode of WWE RAW, Bálor caught up with Punk backstage. Bálor said he had been thinking about their match last week, and that even though he didn’t win, it was one of the most memorable moments of his career.
Bálor said he appreciated Punk giving him his flowers after the match, and regrets not doing so in return. He then thanked Punk, and Punk offered him some advice in return. Punk said Bálor should think about what he wants his legacy to be, and can’t be tied to “garbage” like Dominik Mysterio forever. After suggesting he leave The Judgment Day, Punk offered up more advice. He said if Bálor really wants another title shot, to win the Royal Rumble and meet him at WrestleMania.
Later in the show, Liv Morgan stopped Bálor backstage. An irate Morgan asked what was happening, revealing she overheard their convo. Morgan said Punk doesn’t want him to become champion, and that The Judgment Day is Bálor’s family at the end of the day. She then told Balor to figure it out.
Bálor clearly took Morgan’s message to heart. After the talk and later in the night, Bálor interrupted Punk’s title match against AJ Styles. He ambushed Punk, attacking the star and ending the show by not only ruining Styles’ match, but sending a message to Punk in the process.
