Roman Reigns had high praise for AJ Styles in his tribute to the Phenomenal One after his WWE retirement.
In his first interview after his retirement at the Royal Rumble, AJ Styles spoke to former WWE Chairwoman Stephanie McMahon on her What’s Your Story podcast. During their conversation, McMahon showed Styles a video of several WWE stars paying tribute to the Phenomenal One.
Roman Reigns was the first one shown in the clip, and the OTC praised AJ Styles for his dedication to being a family man while being involved in pro wrestling. He noted that he was happy to have worked with Styles back in 2016 and shared that it would’ve been cool if they had the time to explore new chapters in their story.
“A hell of a worker. A hell of a teammate,” Roman Reigns began. “Just an old ass video gamer brother, but that reflects who he is as a person. The discipline that he has being involved in professional wrestling, being on the road, but continuing to stay true to being a family man, being a father.
I’m just happy that I was able to make some art with him when our time came a few years ago. It would’ve been cool to be able to run it back and do it again. You know, explore new chapters and what we could do together because there was, pun intended, a phenomenal chemistry. So, big Al, have fun, be safe, brother, and we’ll see you down the road,” Roman Reigns said.
Roman Reigns and AJ Styles feuded over the WWE Championship back in 2016, and their last singles match took place at Extreme Rules that year.
During the same interview, AJ Styles also teased coming out of retirement in the future.
