Samantha Irvin Says Ricochet’s Criticism Of WWE Could Have A Ripple Effect Of Change

Samantha Irvin hopes Ricochet’s criticism of WWE can enable more wrestlers to speak out.

All Elite Wrestling’s Ricochet recently made headlines for his comments. The AEW National Champion blasted his former employer in a new interview, citing his WWE main roster run as the reason he lost passion for wrestling.

While acknowledging the opportunities and relationships he gained during his time under Vince McMahon, Ricochet ultimately felt his legacy suffered during his years on WWE’s main roster due to him sacrificing his in-ring style and identity.

He also said he doesn’t believe his situation was unique, adding, “Same thing happens to Balor, Shinsuke, Apollo, and many others. WWE kills legacies and love of the sport. It’s what they do best.”

Ricochet’s wife and former WWE announcer, Samantha Irvin, also reacted to his remarks. On X, she urged fans to believe Ricochet’s words in hopes that doing so could encourage other Superstars to speak out.

“Try believing him [prayer hands] maybe the ripple effect will make a change for other people who feel the same way but don’t want to say it,” Samantha Irvin wrote.

After a fan criticized Ricochet for not voicing his frustration while he was still with WWE, Samantha said she took her husband’s comments “as an observation that many fans have already pointed out.”

Samantha Irvin left WWE in late 2024. Ricochet most recently successfully defended the AEW National Championship against Jack Perry on Dynamite.
