Ricochet responds to fans’ criticism over a botch on this week’s AEW Dynamite.
This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite emanated from the North Charleston Coliseum in North Charleston, South Carolina. The show featured Chris Jericho, who was fed up with all the beatdowns, called out Ricochet, and The Demand out to the ring.
During the segment, Ricochet mistakenly called the city “Charleston, North Carolina.” Chris Jericho then looked straight into the camera and corrected him by mouthing “South.” Fans took the clip to X/Twitter to mock the former AEW National Champion for the botch, and he responded, saying the slip-up was intentional.
“The fact that people don’t know that I said North Carolina on purpose shows the ignorance on this app.” Ricochet also replied to a fan who noted he mixed up the name to insult the people of South Carolina, saying, “There’s too many ignorant people out there to understand nuance.”
Ricochet challenged Chris Jericho to a Stadium Stampede Match at AEW Double or Nothing
In the final moments of the segment, Ricochet agreed to face Chris Jericho once more, but only under the condition that it would be a Stadium Stampede match at Double or Nothing. He questioned if Jericho could find partners, to which the latter replied that if he couldn’t, he would face them all by himself.
A brawl broke out between the Demand and Chris Jericho before The Hurt Syndicate’s Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and MVP came out to make the save. With Lashley and Benjamin on his side, Jericho will now have to find two more partners, and the same goes for Ricochet, Toa Liona, and Bishop Kaun.
Double or Nothing 2026 will take place at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York, on Sunday, May 24.
