WATCH: Crowd Pops for WWE’s ‘Invisible’ John Cena Spot at EVE Event

John Cena may be officially retired, but that didn’t stop Pro-Wrestling: Eve’s crowd from going wild for him, even though he never actually appeared.

Pro-Wrestling: EVE is a British women’s promotion created by Dann and Emily Read. Their Multiverse Rumble is a no-rules, non-canon match where wrestlers show up as alternate versions of themselves, pop culture characters, or completely ridiculous ideas.

This made it the perfect place to land Cena’s famous “You Can’t See Me” joke.

Pro Wrestling EVE Delivers Playful ‘You Can’t See Me’ Tribute

At Pro-Wrestling: EVE’s Multiverse Rumble, fans witnessed one of the funniest moments in indie wrestling history. An “invisible” John Cena made his entrance and even participated in the match. Cena “You Can’t See Me” has been the source of some of the most hilarious memes for years, and now, this real-life interpretation just took it to new heights.

During the match, wrestlers dressed as D-Generation X members were fighting in the ring when Cena’s entrance music suddenly hit. The crowd went crazy right away.

The camera started moving as if Cena had entered, even though no one was there. The fans played along perfectly, cheering louder as the invisible Cena “wrestled.” He hit his shoulder tackles, followed by the Five Knuckle Shuffle.

However, he suffered a roadblock after he got hit by Shawn Michaels’ Sweet Chin Music, followed by Triple H’s Pedigree. Nevertheless, just when the DX members were about to throw him out of the ring, the invisible Cena fought back and threw Michaels and Triple H over the top rope. It was a fun callback to his old rivalry with DX.

English professional wrestler Will Ospreay reportedly produced the match.

The moment felt even more special because Cena is truly done as an in-ring competitor. On December 13, 2025, he officially retired at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington, D.C. after tapping out to Gunther’s sleeper hold.

Although he won’t wrestle again, Cena is still tied to WWE as a brand ambassador.
