AEW’s Kevin Matthews got to share the spotlight during the Super Bowl.
Each year, the Super Bowl provides a major opportunity for various brands to get some of the spotlight. The Big Game is typically the single biggest television event in the United States each year. Super Bowl LIX in 2025 set a record for the most-watched television event in U.S. history with an average of 127.7 million viewers.
Super Bowl LX featured a new commercial for Wegovy, a semaglutide weight-loss medication. One of the scenes in the commercial saw popular rapper and producer DJ Khaled stepping into the ring, applying a Camel Clutch while delivering his line.
“If there was a pill to make me a pro wrestler, I’d take it,“ DJ Khaled said.

DJ Khaled’s opponent was Kevin Matthews, an AEW producer and wrestler who also has an extensive acting background.
Matthews commented on the ad after it aired during the Super Bowl, writing the following on Instagram:
“A few months ago in November, I got to step into a ring with @djkhaled and be part of something super cool, the Novo Nordisk Wegovy Super Bowl commercial. ? ? ? Huge thanks to everyone involved who made it happen. Huge should out to @buckneverstops who initially told me about the casting call. Thank you to Stunt coordinators @smyjbrian & @bradmartinaction for thier help as well,” Matthews wrote after the commercial aired during the Super Bowl.
