A US Senator has doubled down on his stance on bringing Bad Bunny from WWE to AEW.
Ruben Gallego, a sitting United States senator from Arizona, recently tagged Tony Khan in a tweet asking him to bring Bad Bunny to AEW. The Puerto Rican rapper began making appearances for WWE in 2021. Moreover, he has also stepped inside the ring on a few occasions. He made his debut at WrestleMania 37. Bad Bunny fought in a San Juan Street Fight against Damian Priest at Backlash 2023 in his last appearance. He has also held the WWE 24/7 Championship once.
When another user pointed out Bad Bunny’s association with WWE on X, Ruben Gallego stood firm on his stance. Gallego reiterated that he preferred AEW over WWE and expressed his desire to see Bunny switch to Tony Khan’s promotion.
Bad Bunny recently bagged three awards at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony, alongside fellow WWE talent Jelly Roll. After that, he made history at Super Bowl LX by becoming the first artist to perform the halftime show entirely in Spanish.
However, controver,y ensued over his involvement. His detractors used his identity to argue that he should not be allowed to perform. But Bad Bunny received some support from wrestling personalities, including WWE’s Logan Paul and AEW World Champion MJF.
It’s been a while since Bad Bunny last appeared in WWE, and while nothing is confirmed, it will be interesting to see if he would consider switching over to AEW.
