Triple H once compared Hulk Hogan to a carton of milk before facing him in a major 2002 WWE PPV.
During his recent interview with Wrestling Epicenter, former WWE production executive David Sahadi recounted a conversation with Triple H.
Having to work on the promos after the PPV, Sahadi asked The Game who was going over in his Undisputed WWF Championship defense against Hulk Hogan at Backlash 2002. He recalled the current WWE CCO telling him he was winning the match, saying, like a carton of milk, the hype around Hogan gets old fast.
“I was at the gym, and Triple H was working out. He was sitting next to me. I knew I was going to have to do the promos after the pay-per-view and leading into RAW. So I asked him, ‘Who is going over?’
“Triple H said, ‘I’m going over. Hulk Hogan is great. But he is like a KISS Reunion tour. Or a carton of milk. It gets old fast.'”
However, Sahadi was surprised when Hulk Hogan won the title from Triple H at the event. But he doesn’t believe the current Chief Content Officer lied to him that day.
“Everything was going along the way Triple H said it would until Hulk Hogan wins the belt. I was like, ‘What the Hell!’ I have to believe that is something they changed on the day. I don’t believe Triple H was lying to me. I believe he thought, when he said that, he was going over. But he didn’t.” [H/T Cultaholic]
David Sahadi left WWE in 2003. After working for TNA and MLW over the years, he joined Real American Freestyle, a promotion co-founded by the late Hulk Hogan, as a producer in 2025.
