Can you smell what The Rookie is cookin’?
While WWE Raw typically takes over Netflix on Monday nights, The Rookie takes over ABC. Still, as seen on Instagram, the worlds once managed to cross over.
Following the airing of The Rookie‘s newest episode, titled “Baja,” this past Monday night, actress Melissa O’Neil hopped on TheRookieABC’s Instagram stories for a Q&A series. During it, O’Neil revealed that she met former WWE Champion Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson on the set of the police procedural.
“It’ll probably never happen. But a girl can dream, right?” O’Neil wrote, when asked about her dream guest star for The Rookie. “Meeting Mr. Dwayne Johnson was a seriously big deal for the little girl who grew up watching WWE with her dad. Totally nerded out. CAN YOU IMAGINE IF HE DID?!?”
Alongside her answer, O’Neil shared a photograph of her and The Rock standing inside The Rookie‘s fictional Mid-Wilshire police station. As of this writing, it is unknown if an on-screen appearance of The Rock will materialize on The Rookie, but regardless, O’Neil’s post confirms that he has at least stepped onto the show’s set.
Regarding The Rock’s own work, O’Neil suggested that fans check out his film project, The Smashing Machine. “If you haven’t seen @therock in @thesmashingmachinemovie, Highly recommend,” she wrote.
In The Smashing Machine, The Rock stars as former MMA fighter Mark Kerr. On The Rookie, O’Neil portrays Lucy Chen, a police officer recently promoted to sergeant. This week marked seventh episode in The Rookie‘s eighth season.
