Gunther indicated that he made the call to go back to a familiar WWE theme song.
Former World Heavyweight Champion Gunther is known for using “Symphony No. 9” as his entrance music. He used the song, Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 in E Minor, in WWE’s NXT UK, where he was NXT UK Champion for a record 870 days.
Despite the song being popular and a big part of Gunther’s presentation, he got a new song, Def Rebel’s “Prepare to Fight,” when he was moved to the WWE main roster in 2022. Gunther brought Symphony back in November 2025, returning to the song against Je’Von Evans in The Last Time Is Now Tournament. The switch to the original song has been praised by fans. Gunther says he was the one who made the choice to switch back.
Gunther says it was time to go back to Symphony No. 9
The former World Champion appeared on Atlanta’s The Morning Shift on 92.9 The Game to promote Monday’s episode of WWE RAW. During the show, he explained that he liked his old theme song more and wanted to change it.
“Yeah, because I like that song more,” Gunther said, matter-of-factly. “I had that for a long time, so I thought it was time to go back to it.”
This week’s episode of WWE RAW will also feature a tribute ceremony for AJ Styles, who Gunther retired in January. “The Career Killer” teased showing up to AJ Styles’ farewell on RAW. He still thinks everyone should just get over it, whether he crashes it or not.
RAW will also feature appearances from Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, and Liv Morgan, who will make her WrestleMania decision. The show will also feature the final Triple Threat Match for a spot in the Men’s Elimination Chamber. That match will see Jey Uso vs. “Original” El Grande Americano vs. Bronson Reed.
