AJ Styles was reportedly legitimately surprised when The Undertaker announced his Hall of Fame induction on WWE RAW.
After delivering an emotional retirement speech in front of his home state audience on this week’s episode of WWE RAW, AJ Styles placed his vest and gloves in the middle of the ring to signify the end of his legendary career. However, The Undertaker rode down to the ring and informed Styles that he’s the newest inductee into the 2026 class of the WWE Hall of Fame.
If AJ Styles’ genuine reaction wasn’t a giveaway, F4WOnline’s Bryan Alvarez reports that WWE kept the Phenomenal One in the dark about the announcement, and he was legitimately surprised when the Undertaker broke the news.
“That whole thing at the end with the Undertaker and the Hall of Fame announcement was a legitimate surprise to AJ, who they didn’t clue in,” Alvarez wrote.
AJ Styles joins former WWE Chairwoman Stephanie McMahon, who also received a similar surprise announcement from the Undertaker, in the 2026 Hall of Fame. Recent reports also indicated who the company wants to induct Styles into the HOF.
AJ Styles made a painful admission during his speech
During his emotional farewell speech, AJ Styles reflected on his journey over the years. He also detailed the sacrifices he had to make for his career and noted that while he has achieved almost everything in pro wrestling, he wasn’t always able to be there as a full-time father.
“I’ve literally done almost everything. Almost. I can tell you this, the one thing that I haven’t done is to be a full-time father. And you’ve heard this before. I’ve missed birthdays, I’ve missed anniversaries, I’ve missed games, I’ve missed…you name it, I’ve missed it all. And that’s tough,” AJ Styles said while watching his kids in the crowd.
Styles called his wife his “biggest flex” and thanked her for keeping everything together at home while he was on the road.
