WWE NXT star Tatum Paxley recently revealed that Alexa Bliss played a huge role in inspiring her to become a professional wrestler.
In an interview with Going Ringside podcast, Paxley talked about her life before WWE. She said she was managing a supplement store and working in retail, but it made her unhappy. “I was sitting at a job. I was working, I was managing a supplement store, and retail was just killing me.”
“It was turning me into something I was not. You know, if you work in retail, you are tough, you know. So years into retail, I’m sitting there, I’m doing powerlifting, and I’m loving it, but I’m missing the performance aspect of what I was doing with cheerleading.”
Tatum Paxley says Alexa Bliss changed how she sees pro wrestling
She revealed a friend introduced her to WWE matches on YouTube. Although she did not grow up watching wrestling, Alexa Bliss quickly caught her attention. “When you look at her and you see the craziness that she can bring to the ring, like she can tell a story so much with her face and her eyes.”
“To me, she just stood out. She is what helped me realize that there is more to pro wrestling than just what you see in the ring. She’s the one that made me realize there is story. There’s something to connect with.” [H/T: ewrestlingnews]
Bliss responded to Paxley’s comments on X, formerly known as Twitter, and thanked her for the kind words. She wrote, “thank you ??? for the kindest words – can’t wait til we meet again in the ring ??” Not only paxley got bliss’ reaction.”
Paxley did more than just receive a reaction from Bliss. Last year on WWE NXT, she got the chance to wrestle alongside her idol. She teamed up with Izzi Dame to face Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss for the Women’s Tag Team Titles. Although they did not win the match, the moment meant a lot to her.
