Things got crazy on the February 27 episode of WWE SmackDown. Before the show even really started, Jey Uso was taken out on a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance. With Elimination Chamber just a day away, Sami Zayn has added even more drama to the situation.
Uso was attacked and buried under production equipment. Medical staff rushed to help him, and commentators later confirmed he was taken to the hospital. They also said his spot in the Elimination Chamber match is now “in doubt.”
Uso had just earned his Chamber spot days earlier on RAW after Bronson Reed’s injury during their qualifier match, which also included “Original” El Grande Americano.
Sami Zayn Points Fingers at Jey Uso’s Ally As Attacker
In today’s SmackDown, when Uso was taken in the ambulance, cameras showed Jacob Fatu near the ambulance. He said he would “get to the bottom of this,” and even argued with security.
Later, during a backstage segment, Sami Zayn directly confronted Jacob Fatu. Zayn accused him of being behind the attack. He said Fatu has been after Drew McIntyre for the past few weeks and might have taken out Uso to shake up the Chamber match. Zayn also pointed out that Fatu was suspiciously close to the scene.
Fatu angrily denied it. He turned the accusation back on Zayn, saying Zayn had his own reason to be upset. Fatu mentioned their recent Chamber qualifying match involving himself, Zayn, and Cody Rhodes. In that match, McIntyre hit a Claymore on both Fatu and Rhodes and helped Zayn. But Rhodes ended up winning instead.
From Fatu’s point of view, Zayn could be frustrated enough to do something drastic like attacking Jey Uso.
In the end, Zayn apologized to Fatu, though he was still frustrated. He admitted he hasn’t been thinking clearly since losing his chance to qualify at the Chamber. That didn’t fully clear Fatu’s name, but it made things even more complicated.
Cody Rhodes tells Jacob Fatu he hopes he sees him in the Chamber.
