Hello, my friend, we meet again… WWE Desire is back!
WWE uploaded a new version of its iconic “WWE Desire” music video, featuring Creed’s “My Sacrifice,” to its WWE Vault YouTube channel. The video debuted on WWE TV in 2001, just in time for WrestleMania 17. The initial video and the song are described as helping to “define the final chapters of The Attitude Era.”
The original video, seen below, highlights “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s feud with The Rock, Kurt Angle, and many of the biggest names from the Attitude Era like Kane, The Undertaker, Mankind and Triple H.
WWE produced several other WWE Desire videos over the years, with many of them highlighting individual Superstars. “My Sacrifice” was used again in videos for Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Undertaker, while WWE also used Kid Rock’s “Lonely Road of Faith” and P.O.D.’s “Alive” for other videos in the Desire library.
There are some notable differences in this version of WWE Desire
WWE Desire is back, but it’s worth noting that it’s not the original version that aired on TV. Fans pointed out that there are some slight differences in details, like editing Chris Benoit out of the video.
“This is not the original version but it is always fantastic. What a time to be alive, kids today can’t understand what did it mean to us,” @TheEnigma88 wrote on Twitter/X.
Despite that, the video was met with an overall positive response on social media.
“Me blasting this like it’s 2001 again ? WWE Creed hits different,” one fan wrote.
“WWE nailed it, Desire and Creed hits hard. Nostalgia drives engagement, fans reconnect instantly,” wrote another.
Seems like WWE should maybe consider doing an updated version with the current roster as a lead-in to WrestleMania 42.
