Lex Luger is doing great, despite what you might have read about him online.
Luger wrote the following on Twitter/X in response to a recent social media post by SportsKeeda Wrestling, which heavily implied Luger was recently hospitalized:
“Hey Everybody. I was just made aware of this. False news!! I’m doing great,” Luger wrote. “Weekend off relaxing at home enjoying some hoops and my Buffalo Sabres hockey???”
The post, which has since been deleted, used an image of Luger to imply he was the one in the hospital. However, Luger had previously sent prayers to Konnan, who was reportedly hospitalized and had a leg amputated. Ironically, Luger was responding to a post by ITR Wrestling, a website owned by SportsKeeda’s parent company.
Lex Luger has dealt with health issues, but has made great progress in recent years
Lex Luger, now 67, was paralyzed after suffering a spinal stroke in 2007. He was largely reliant on a wheelchair for many years. However, he’s been able to improve his strength and mobility in recent years. Luger has also worked with fellow WWE Hall of Famer DDP and can now stand up on his own at times.
In November 2025, Luger shared a photo of himself standing on a step ladder, decorating a Christmas tree in his house. The WWE Hall of Famer highlighted that it had been several years since he’s been able to do this on his own.
“A picture is worth a thousand words!! Trimming our tree. Haven’t been able to do this for almost 2 decades. Thanks to my good friend @RealDDP @DDPYoga. Thank you Jesus!!!
