Cody Rhodes Says WWE Hall of Famer Gave Him Millions in Free Production

Cody Rhodes has never forgotten the people who helped him along the way, and recently he took time to thank one person who played a huge role in rebuilding his career- WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page, aka DDP.

After leaving WWE in 2016, Rhodes set out to reinvent himself. He traveled the wrestling world, working for promotions like Ring of Honor, NJPW, TNA, and eventually AEW. During that time, he developed “The American Nightmare” persona and started gaining some popularity.

Speaking on What Do You Wanna Talk About?, Rhodes sat down with DDP and looked back on the years after leaving WWE. During the conversation, Rhodes revealed that DDP and his team provided an incredible amount of help behind the scenes, giving him production support that he believes was worth millions of dollars.

Rhodes said that a big part of that success came from DDP and Comeback Studios, the production company run by Page and Steve Yu.

“My time away from WWE and my time starting anything on my own is heavily reliant on millions of dollars — and I am not exaggerating, millions of dollars of production that was given to me for free by Steve Yu and yourself and your wonderful team there,” Rhodes said. (H/T: Wrestling Observer).

He added that the relationship is still strong today. Rhodes said that WWE now knows how valuable Comeback Studios is and often uses the facility whenever he needs to film interviews, promotional videos, or other content.

“WWE knows, and I don’t know if this is a good thing or a bad thing, WWE knows in a pinch if they need me to do an interview, in a pinch if they need me via Zoom, if they need me to film something, if they need a place, a studio, that’s where they go,” he added.

The discussion naturally shifted to DDP’s long history of helping wrestlers outside the ring. Over the years, Page has earned respect for helping veterans through health struggles and personal challenges, including well-known work with Scott Hall, Jake Roberts, and Lex Luger. Rhodes praised DDP for the impact he has had on so many lives.
