Ronda Rousey has stirred up the MMA world once again after criticizing the UFC White House card while promoting her own return fight against Gina Carano.
Recently, UFC president Dana White confirmed the matchups for a special event called UFC Freedom 250. The event will take place at the White House on June 14, 2026.
The main event will feature a lightweight title unification fight between Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje. The co-main event will see UFC’s former two-division Champion Alex Pereira face heavyweight contender Ciryl Gane for the interim heavyweight title.
Even with marquee names on the card, reactions from fans and fighters have been mixed as the hype and expectations were too high.
On the other hand, Rousey is returning to face Gina Carano in a featherweight bout on May 16. The fight will stream on Netflix and is promoted by Jake Paul and Nakissa Bidarian’s Most Valuable Promotions.
This fight will be Rousey’s first MMA appearance in about 10 years, and Carano hasn’t fought since 2009.

While promoting her event, Rousey also celebrated the signing of former UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou. Ngannou is set to fight Philipe Lins on the same card.
Ngannou’s presence adds even more star power because of his stature in the MMA realm. The heavyweight star has also had his issues with Dana White and the UFC.
On X, Rousey compared the two events and said that the UFC’s White House card “sucks.” She also took a shot at White’s company by stating that this is what happens when fighters and fans are put ahead of company shareholders.
“#NgannouVsLins joins #RouseyVsCarano on @Netflix May 16th! How’s THAT for a bamf laden double headliner? That’s what happens when you put fighters and fans ahead of shareholders @MostVpromotions
P.S. @ufc’s White House card sucks”
Interestingly, Rousey once said she first approached the UFC about co-promoting her return fight. But the talks reportedly didn’t work out after the UFC signed a huge seven-year, $7.7 billion broadcast deal with Paramount.
According to Rousey, the new deal changed the company’s pay structure, which meant they couldn’t offer the same financial terms that were originally discussed. Because of that, she decided to partner with MVP instead.
