CM Punk Told To Apologize for Disrespectful Comment on WWE RAW

Things got tense on the March 9 episode of WWE RAW when The Usos demanded an apology from CM Punk. The issue came from a controversial comment Punk made about Roman Reigns’ late father during the previous week’s show.

At the end of last week’s RAW, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion cut a personal promo aimed at Roman Reigns. Apart from the other things, he said that he planned to “bury” Reigns next to his father. The line divided the WWE Universe and caused backlash from fans and members of the famous Samoan wrestling family.

Reigns’ late father, Sika Anoa’i, was a legendary figure in wrestling. He was part of the famous tag team The Wild Samoans, with his brother Afa Anoa’i.

When Punk came to the ring again at the end of this week’s RAW, Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso came out to confront him.

The Usos Confront CM Punk and Demand an Apology

Jey looked very angry and stepped right up to Punk, demanding that he apologize for what he said. Jimmy tried to calm things down and pulled his brother back. He said that he respected Punk. However, he made it clear that the WWE World Heavyweight Champion needed to take responsibility for his words.

Jimmy mentioned CM Punk’s reputation as the “Voice of the Voiceless,” but said Punk went too far by mentioning their late uncle, who no longer has any “voice.”

CM Punk then tried to explain what he meant. He said he actually respects Sika and Afa. Punk mentioned that early in his career, he learned a lot from them and spent time training under their guidance.

Even after hearing that, The Usos kept asking Punk to simply say, “I’m sorry.”

CM Punk finally agreed to apologize, but instead of apologizing directly for the comment about Sika, Punk said he was sorry for how Reigns had treated his own family over the years as the leader of The Bloodline.

He said, “I’m sorry Roman Reigns treated the two of you and the rest of the Bloodline like garbage for years and never once came out here publicly to apologize for the way he treated his family that he loves.”

CM Punk also brought up Dusty Rhodes, saying Reigns once called him irrelevant. He said that Dusty was a mentor he respected deeply and the father of his friend Cody Rhodes.

“I’m sorry Roman Reigns disrespected one of my mentors, the great American Dream Dusty Rhodes, the father of my friend Cody, when he called him irrelevant, and is somehow not on the hook for apologizing, but I am,” Punk said.

Punk also questioned why Reigns didn’t come to RAW himself and instead sent his “young boys” to deal with the situation.

“I’m sorry Usos, I’m sorry that Roman Reigns has tricked you, and the rest of the Samoan family, and all these people… that he gives a single damn about any of you or any of this, because if he did, if he cared about you or the people, or me, or this company or this business, I’d be standing in the ring talking to him right now, instead of his young boys,” Punk said.

This “apology” only made things worse. Jey Uso pushed Punk in anger, and Jimmy punched Punk and knocked him down.

After that heated confrontation, The Usos left the ring as the show ended.
