Top WWE RAW Star Confirms Injury

Rey Mysterio recently confirmed that he suffered an injury earlier this year after a match on WWE RAW.

The incident happened during Mysterio’s match against Austin Theory on the January 26 episode of RAW. During the match, Mysterio performed a hurricanrana on the floor, but his knee bent awkwardly, which worried fans.

Officials helped him backstage afterward, and he was not involved in the post-match attack by The Vision. Despite the injury scare, Mysterio still traveled to Saudi Arabia and competed in the Royal Rumble.

He entered the 2026 Men’s Royal Rumble match at number four but lasted only 2 minutes and 43 seconds before Oba Femi eliminated him. Since that appearance, Mysterio has been absent from WWE television.

Rey Mysterio reveals he suffered fractured ribs

Speaking in an interview with Unlikely with Adrian Hernandez, Rey Mysterio finally shared an update on his condition. He said, “Much better than when it actually happened. So, that injury occurred on January 27th, which was the Monday leading into the Rumble. Fractured ribs, both left and right. So those take a little bit of time to heal, but on the way out.”

Mysterio was also asked about the recent drama involving his son, Dominik Mysterio, including his Intercontinental Championship loss and kicking Finn Balor out of The Judgment Day.

He said, “It’s a little shaky, man. I mean, I warned Finn like I warned Priest, like I warned Rhea that Dom is not the cat that they think he is. And I’ve known him my whole life. It seems like, like anything else, now they’re finding out on their own. Sometimes it takes time to really get to meet the person that you think he is and he’s not. So, it’s crazy.”
