Glenn Jacobs recently opened up about why he believes WWE’s plan for his “Corporate Kane” character didn’t go according to plan.
Speaking during a panel appearance at River City Wrestling Con, Jacobs opened up about the idea of Corporate Kane, and why it fell apart. Jacobs noted that the original idea for the character was to be almost two separate personas, with “Corporate Kane” never actually wrestling.
“The idea of Corporate Kane was that Corporate Kane was never supposed to wrestle,” said Jacobs. “He was just a mouthpiece, and then when the Authority needed an enforcer, that’s when Kane put on the mask. But they were never supposed to touch the guy in the suit.”
Jacobs went on to say that the idea was “completely lost,” and ended with Jacobs simply just getting “beat up by everybody.” He also credited the idea to Triple H, and praised the original plans before they went awry.
“That whole thing got completely lost, and it was almost like The Great Muta, where you have two characters,” Jacobs said. “Kane in the suit never would talk about the other Kane wearing the mask, and it just got lost…and that was actually Triple H’s idea, who is, his wrestling mind is unbelievable. But you know, we talked about doing that and that was his thought, and like I said, it just kind of got lost in the mix unfortunately, and then I just ended up getting beat up by everybody.”
