AEW has had to change its plans after Kyle Fletcher suffered a serious knee injury. However, Tony Khan is hopeful the young star can return later this year at AEW All In.
Fletcher was having a great run as AEW TNT Champion, but he had to relinquish the title after getting injured on the March 28, 2026, episode of AEW Collision. The injury happened during a tag team match where he teamed with Mark Davis against The Rascalz.
Even though he was hurt, Fletcher finished the match. Later, he was seen wearing a walking boot, and it was confirmed to be a meniscus injury. Nevertheless, AEW had to vacate his TNT Championship.
Kyle Fletcher expected back in time for AEW All In
Tony Khan spoke about the situation on a media call before AEW Dynasty and said Fletcher will be out for a few months. He also mentioned that the injury has forced AEW to change several plans. One of the canceled ideas was a big tag match featuring Fletcher and Kazuchika Okada against The Young Bucks.
“It affected plans for several shows including Dynasty. He’s expected out months and not a year or anything like that. That’s a goal and realistic based on the timeline,” Khan said.
There is no exact return date yet, but Khan is hopeful that Fletcher will return around AEW All In, which will happen at Wembley Stadium in London on August 30, 2026.
Fletcher’s absence has affected the TNT title scene. Since the title is now vacant, AEW will crown a new champion at Dynasty in a Casino Gauntlet match. Tommaso Ciampa has already qualified as the first entrant after winning on AEW Dynamite. Another qualifying match will happen on Collision, where Rush will face Anthony Bowens.
We wish Kyle Fletcher a speedy recovery.
