TNA’s Nic Nemeth says he still has political aspirations.
During his recent appearance on the Generation of Wrestling Podcast, Nic Nemeth (FKA Dolph Ziggler in WWE) was asked about his other interests, including stand-up comedy and politics. Addressing the latter, Nemeth revealed that 20 years ago, he had several aspirations, including becoming a lawyer, a two-time world champion, joining the UFC, entering politics, and becoming a senator. He shared that he still has those political aspirations.
“20 years ago, the plan was to be pre-law at Kent State, become a lawyer while I’m training for wrestling, become a two-time world champion, host Saturday Night Live, join UFC for one fight, and then go on to become like the Mayor of Palm Springs, and then move my way into being like a Senator. I still have those political aspirations,” Nic Nemeth revealed.
“I love everything about politics, and so many people started following it about 10-11 years ago. It gets a little crazy with some people now. In college, there was a tie for the presidential election. There was a tie in 2000, and nobody cared on my campus because nobody gave a damn about it. Now, too many people might care about it,” Nic Nemeth said.
“So, there was a tie, and I’m like, ‘Guys, there’s a tie,’ nobody in my house cared. I had a class called ‘The Presidency’ that was just doing a 40-page thing on the follow-up of the entire election, and then we turn it in the day after the election, but they didn’t have a winner. So it was so funny. I’m like, ‘This is unprecedented. There’s a tie.’ The 30 people in my class cared, and nobody else on campus did,” Nic Nemeth said.
Nic Nemeth wants to do some good for Cleveland
Speaking further, Nic Nemeth said he still tries to stay smart on the laws and feels he could do some good down the line, possibly for his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio.
“So, I love politics. I still follow the law. I get certain laws for like dummies books, and that’s something I like to read in between to stay smart with everything and learn as much as possibly can. Yes, I absolutely would still love to do that, and I feel like that would be something that I could very well do some good, maybe for Cleveland down the line,” Nic Nemeth said.
