Fans got a fun surprise on the April 10, 2026, episode of WWE SmackDown, as a classic moment from the past was brought back. The spot featured Danhausen and The Miz. It reminded fans of an old moment that involved Shawn Michaels and Melina Perez from Survivor Series 2006.
That original spot is still one of WWE’s most famous funny moments. It happened back in 2006 during a 5-on-5 Survivor Series Elimination Match between Team DX (Shawn Michaels, Triple H, CM Punk, Jeff Hardy, and Matt Hardy) and Team Rated-RKO (Edge, Randy Orton, Johnny Nitro aka John Morrison, Gregory Helms, and Mike Knox).
During the match, Shawn Michaels rolled outside the ring and came up to Melina, who was facing the crowd, and placed his arm over her shoulders. Thinking he was Nitro, Melina also placed her arm on Michael’s chest. However, the next moment, she realized it was Michaels and screamed.
Michaels also pretended as if he were shocked, and his reaction made it a classic moment that fans still remember.

Now, almost 20 years later, SmackDown also had a similar kind of moment.
This happened during Danhausen’s first official WWE match against Kit Wilson. The match had already been full of chaos, with weird moments, mind games, and past issues involving referee Dan Engler.
At one point, Danhausen slipped down the rope and stood next to The Miz, who was facing the crowd outside the ring, just like Melina. Miz failed to realize it was Danhausen. For a moment, it looked like they were on the same side and even posed together.
But just like Melina in 2006, Miz suddenly realized who he was standing next to and screamed. And just like Michaels, Danhausen also reacted as if he were also shocked.
The reference was clear enough to make fans nostalgic.
After that, Kit Wilson took control for a bit. But then things got strange again when Danhausen “cursed” Wilson.
Just as Wilson was about to jump from the top rope, a pyro suddenly went off at the ring post, which hit him between the legs. Danhausen took advantage, poked The Miz in the eye at ringside, and then hit a pump kick on Wilson to win the match.
The match itself was fun, but the highlight was the callback to Shawn Michaels and Melina’s classic moment. Seth Rollins and Rhea Ripley had also pulled off a similar moment earlier on RAW in 2023.
