Seth Rollins Has Something To Prove at WWE WrestleMania 42

WWE star Seth Rollins feels he has something to prove.

After relinquishing the World Heavyweight Championship due to injury, Seth Rollins is feeling extra motivated to get himself back into title contention. To do that, though, Rollins feels he must first prove himself at WWE WrestleMania 42.

“I’d love to say yes. I’d love to say absolutely, but it really depends,” Rollins told ESPN’s Get Up when asked if he deserved a world title shot. “It depends on how I perform on Saturday. If I come out and I’m not the man that I was, I’m not the performer that I was, then I got to work my way back into title contention.

“Now, it pains me a little bit to see these two guys going at it in the main event, Roman Reigns and CM Punk for my world title. But I gotta be honest with myself, where I’m at in my career, coming back from an injury and I got to do everything I can to get myself in that position. Now I come out and have a banger and I’m back into form, then I’ll be waiting on the other side of this thing, for sure.”

On night one of WrestleMania 42, Rollins will take on “The Career Killer” Gunther, who’s recently put away the careers of Goldberg, John Cena, and AJ Styles. Rollins’ career will not be on the line in this case. However, based on their latest interaction on Raw, it is clear that things are personal between them.

Both Rollins and Gunther have held the World Heavyweight Championship previously. CM Punk currently carries the title, with Roman Reigns slated to challenge him for it in the WrestleMania night two main event.
