Roman Reigns isn’t sure he should be in WWE if he can’t beat CM Punk at WrestleMania 42.
Reigns sat for an interview with Michael Cole for WWE Digital to promote his match with CM Punk. During the conversation, Reigns addressed the potential of him losing to CM Punk on Sunday. Reigns made a bold statement, claiming that if he doesn’t beat CM Punk, that might signal the end of his time in WWE.
“If I lose to CM Punk at WrestleMania, I don’t belong in WWE anymore,” Roman Reigns said. “I think if I were to lose on Sunday, I’d say my work is done.”
Roman Reigns also appeared on ESPN First Take on Friday to promote the match. During the conversation, he rejected the idea that he’s jealous of CM Punk’s connection with the fans. Despite that, he also took credit for WWE’s recent success and said that facts contradict everything Punk has said about him.
“I think if you look at every talking point CM Punk has hit, there’s a contradiction to everything,” Roman Reigns said. I’m not making it up. The internet exists. That’s what I’m saying. It’s not 2012 anymore. You know what I mean? The old CM Punk, that pipe bomb crap, it doesn’t line up because you have nerds all over the world picking it apart.”
