Jake Hager Shares True Feelings About CM Punk Ahead of WWE WrestleMania 42

Jake Hager didn’t hold back when asked about CM Punk ahead of WWE WrestleMania 42.

Speaking at a press conference following his successful debut in Power Slap, Hager was asked to predict the outcomes of WWE WrestleMania main events. His response was blunt.

“I would never ever ever pick CM Punk to win a match,” Hager said.

When asked whether his stance was based on dislike or lack of respect for Punk’s in-ring ability, Hager doubled down. “Yeah. I don’t really care for him too much,” he added, before brushing it off further by saying, “I don’t like a lot of people.”

Hager’s comments come shortly after his transition away from pro wrestling. The former World Heavyweight Champion announced his retirement in August 2025, following runs in both WWE (as Jack Swagger) and All Elite Wrestling under his real name.

He made his Power Slap debut in the heavyweight division on April 17, earning a third-round knockout victory.

Meanwhile, CM Punk is set for a major spotlight once again. The reigning World Heavyweight Champion will headline WrestleMania for the second consecutive year, defending his title against Roman Reigns on Sunday night.
