Cody Rhodes’ WWE WrestleMania 42 entrance featured a nod to Stardust.
The Saturday main event of WrestleMania 42 had the Undisputed WWE Championship on the line. The challenger, Randy Orton, made his entrance first, slowly walking to the ring as his theme song “Voices” blasted through Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Cody Rhodes, however, had a special entrance prepared for the occasion. Before his music hit, four glass-fronted closets appeared on the stage, each featuring a mannequin dressed in ring gear from different phases of his career.
The first display showcased Rhodes’ green trunks and boots from his early WWE days. The second featured the protective face mask he wore in 2010 after suffering a broken nose. The third mannequin paid tribute to his Stardust persona, complete with face paint and signature gear, drawing a huge reaction from the Las Vegas crowd.
The fourth closet highlighted Rhodes’ gear from his WWE return at WrestleMania 38. After all four displays were revealed, The American Nightmare finally emerged, rising from beneath the stage wearing a skull-themed mask.
On his way to the ring, Rhodes paused to greet his wife, Brandi Rhodes, and their daughter, Liberty. The moment appeared to get emotional for Rhodes, though he quickly regained his composure before heading to the ring.
