The reason WWE kept the Liv Morgan vs. Stephanie Vaquer match at WrestleMania 42 short has reportedly been revealed.
WWE WrestleMania 42 Night 1 featured the highly anticipated clash between Liv Morgan and Stephanie Vaquer for the Women’s World Championship. Morgan chose to face Vaquer for the title after winning the 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble match. After a good build-up leading to the event, fans expected a long, physical clash between the two superstars.
However, the bout lasted only 6:50 minutes. Liv Morgan won the Women’s World Championship thanks to interference from her Judgment Day partners Raquer Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez.
While fans continue to speculate about why the match was so short, Bodyslam+ reports that it was due to both Liv Morgan and Stephanie Vaquer already being banged up heading into WrestleMania 42. WWE reportedly chose to keep the bout brief to avoid risking further injury to either competitor.
Liv Morgan was injured during the build-up to the match after Stephanie Vaquer accidentally shoved her too hard into a head-on collision with Roxanne Perez. WWE placed both superstars in concussion protocol after the incident, and Morgan had visible bruises and swelling on her forehead.
However, Stephanie Vaquer didn’t report any injuries heading into the event and even mentioned that she wasn’t hurt during a recent interview. It will be interesting to see whether she continues her feud with Liv Morgan heading into the Backlash PLE next month.
